Alternative Easter Egg Hunt Near White House to Use Fake Cluster Bombs Made By Kids

Friday, April 06, 2007

WASHINGTON —  Anti-war and human rights activists plan an unusual take on the Easter egg hunt by holding an Easter cluster-bomb hunt on Monday.

Fake cluster bombs made by children will be scattered around Lafayette Park, north of the White House.

Hundreds of people will attend the White House Easter Egg Roll while activists hold their alternative cluster-bomb hunt on the other side of the executive mansion.

Brian Hennessey, a spokesman for the Vineeta Foundation, a group sponsor, said the event aims to be humorous and fun for kids. Organizers also want to bring attention that cluster bombs cause death and destruction, Hennessey said.

A cluster bomb releases several hundred smaller bombs that might explode or linger on the ground as land mines, which are often found and picked up by children.

Me: I would put something like this in the realm of verbal and emotional abuse which is often categorized as worse than physical abuse by abuse victims. Is their fanatical hatred of Bush so great they would endanger their own children’s futures with this sort of mind rape? Isn’t there enough nastiness in the world that parents should try to find ways of preserving as much childhood innocence as possible?

To get further details of the foundation involved, you can google the foundation’s name and find their website easily. To give them the benefit of doubt, I did that… just in case Fox was being right-wing biased, as it’s often accused of being, you know? Fox was kind in their report.

One part quoted:

On Easter, Christians around the world remember the fundamental message of their religion (and all religions) – Peace – and that you reap what you sow (but sometimes innocent children reap what you’ve sown).

Me: They are sowing the seeds of terror in their own children; terror that will remain with them for the rest of their lives coming from inside the safe haven of their own families, not from without. Golda Mier says it best, “There will be no peace until they love their children more than they hate us.” Obviously this group does not love their children more.

If they wish to protest the war, the cluster bombs, or anything else for that matter, their use of children to do it is… is… just plain sick.
