Democrats and their media lied about President George W. Bush during their own “Bush-Lied Era” which likely prolonged the Iraq War by emboldening our Islamist enemies to hold out until Democrats were in control of the White House as well as Congress.
But why are we discussing the Iraq War in 2015 that began in 2003 and ended in 2011? Because Democrats and their media are in the process of trying to discredit Republican presidental candidates with the, “If we knew then what we know now” question, concerning our failure to discover stockpiles of WMD after the invasion. Of course we only know now what we know now, and the only way to know for certain that Saddam Hussein did not have WMD after 9/11, was to search his country inch-by-inch. No CIA intel could have proven a negative in any event and given Saddam’s previous use of WMD and ongoing defiance of the UN inspectors and the ceasefire of the first Kuwait War, it was so essential to make sure after 9/11 that Iraq had no WMD that could finish off New York City and the rest of the Fruited Plain.
In fact is was so imperative to Democrats in 2003 that they demanded a second vote authorizing the use of military force in Iraq so that more Democrats could vote for it than had the first time a few months earlier. Continue reading
But I’ll bet the Appeaser-in-Chief keeps this “you-can-keep-your-policy” promise unlike the one made to Americans under the domestic equivalent of the bomb, known as Obamacare.
President Barack Obama is a serial liar but, like a stopped clock, occasionally also tells the truth. For instance, he promised skyrocketing energy prices. They set a record high in October. He promised to bankrupt the coal industry with new carbon emissions-standards. The war on coal is clearly on the offensive and in the direction of bankruptcy courts in West Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
In Iraq and Afghanistan, he promised surrender. American troops have abandoned the former terrorist playground of Saddam Hussein with nary a footprint left behind; while President B. Hussein Obama has set a 2014 date-certain deadline for withdrawal in the former safe haven of al Qaeda and their Taliban hosts in Afghanistan.
Which brings us to the number one state-sponsor of terror on Earth since 1979, Continue reading
The President still emphasizes the “credible threat of military action”, but does anyone think Obama won’t seize upon the Russia-Syria WMD proposal as the preferable way out of his red-line corner than congressional vote gambits?
Probably not, and given the character of the man Americans inexplicably re-hired to wield our nukes (and continue to wreck the economy), the Putin proposal that Assad turn over control of its chemical weapons to international monitors is likely the least-worse scenario to “resolve” President Obama’s Syrian debacle, given other likely options. Did over four months of begging the United Nations to authorize the invasion of Iraq aid in the discovery of the stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction that the U.N. had determined Saddam Hussein had in 1998 and which he had used many times? We didn’t think so.
President Barack Hussein Obama now wants Congress to pre-approve U.S. military action designed to punish the Bashar al-Assad regime for crossing the use-of-WMD “red line” he first drew in Syrian sand on August 20, 2012:
“While I believe I have the authority to carry out this military action without specific congressional authorization, I know that thecountry will be stronger … and our actions will be even more effective” if the strike is authorized by Congress, Obama said Saturday in a televised address from the Rose Garden.
