Predictably backwards considering the left-stream media plus President Obama have made it so. Now, we can add Mike Castle (R-DE), supposedly right-wing though his record doesn’t reflect that, among others:

The problem here is: Just who is listening to whom?

The left-stream media has operated for decades on the premise that they shape opinion. But they ran into a problem along the way: Common sense. Common sense told the “unwashed masses” that the media was lying as they played the “nothing to see here, move along” card. But the media didn’t get it. They are now on a suicide course of political activism.

Common sense tells us that the left-stream media isn’t listening to its audience though that audience is rejecting vocally and tacitly the media’s spin.

The media’s spin on the vocal tea parties, for instance, is that we’re all white homophobic racists (good name for the site since the truth is definitely out if it goes against their opinion). Never mind there was no proof offered… ever. We’re also all stupid. But, regardless of the facts, the media meme still gets heard while real acts of hate are ignored by the same media that tells us not to listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, et al.

Common sense won and is still winning. On the tacit side we have ratings.

What about Rush, you say? How about this?

To no one’s surprise, the top dogs in talk radio remain a chorus of Barack Obama critics led by Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh is No. 1, as usual, on the annual “Heavy Hundred” list of influential hosts just published by the trade magazine Talkers.

Sean Hannity, ranked No. 2, commented on the eve of the 2008 election that while he felt John McCain would be a better President, an Obama presidency would be a bonanza for talk radio.

He’s been proven right, as the conservatives who dominate the major talk radio airwaves have scored solid ratings by teeing off on all things Obama.

A fortune cookie slip once told me: The ears can deceive you but the eyes never do. It’s another way of saying something I always say: Words versus actions. When the words don’t match actions, you have lies. The left-stream media’s words don’t match what our eyes (or our heads) tell us. If they did, their ratings wouldn’t be sinking; so much so that one news outlet blows them away with viewer numbers that almost total all the others combined. Limbaugh, and all, tells us what our eyes are telling us. Sometimes they have ideas what to do about it. Sometimes their listeners have the ideas. It’s a mutual regard whereas the left-stream media continue down their suicidal path(emphasis mine).

The Talkers list does have a growing nonconservative presence this year, led by Thom Hartmann (No. 10), Ed Schultz (No. 11), Joe Madison (No. 12), Alan Colmes (No. 16) and Stephanie Miller (No. 24).

While none of these hosts draws ratings comparable to those of the top conservatives, Talkers also considers satellite, online and other nontraditional ways of delivering programming.

In essence, it would seem that President Obama and the left-stream media are telling us not to believe our eyes and let our ears deceive us. Our eyes tell us what President Obama and his media fan club (and they’re still at it) would deny: that his economic policies aren’t working, that we can’t spend our way out of debt, and affordable health care can be had with Obamacare.

Who listens to whom? We listen to those who confirm what our eyes are telling us, not to mention the utter disdain with which we are treated by the left-stream media. It’s that simple. Fantasy and wishful thinking are all well and good but when reality demands attention, you deal with reality or reality will deal with you in ways not necessarily to your liking.

Or you can continue on your suicide course while we continue to listen to those who listen to us. We’ll miss you (NOT!).
