You and I had some chats last year I believe. I know you live in the western part of the state, while my kin are in the Twin Falls/Stanley part of the state. I used to use the moniker Gawfer and still own the site, though posting has been quite sparse lately.

BB, I’ve been called a racist more times than I can count, along with raving lunatic, teabagger, and other things I can’t even repeat on here. Sometimes alone, sometimes in combination.

Usually for asking a simple question: “Why?”

You can’t debate anyone when all you can do is call people names or threaten them in some way.

However, if you condone what Obama does, isn’t that the same as since he has called us names, blamed us for all ills, and allowed his thugs (SEIU) to beat up protesters who don’t see things their way?

Weather up our way is about normal, Gary. Not sure where your Idaho kin are, but we are a big weird state, geography-wise. Our weather patterns are vertical, so that I live 1000 feet higher than downtown..problematic sometimes as it can rain downtown and snow up town with ice between…going 1000 feet uphill on ice is well, exciting. This blog has never threatened me (thanks, Steph) but some
rather extreme RW blogs have. I make it a practice to be civil, not only because it is the right way to be, but threatening, denigrating or being sarcastic typically
drives the ‘other side’ that much further away. Not pummeling here, but only six percent of scientists are Republican…so I am in the majority in having liberal (ugh) values…

Tru-dat Steph. Typically, a liberal visiting a conservative blog is pummeled with facts, while a conservative visiting a liberal blog is threatened with violence and berated with every four letter word known to man… generally speaking, of course. There are opposing attitudes on both sides that disembark from the norm.

How’s the global warming treating you in Idaho, BB? I haven’t spoken with my kin up there in a while.

Well, see, Gary, the problem is not the level of our goodness but theirs. Instead of pulling themselves up to our level, or any other free country, we must be brought down to theirs.

It’s that way in the micro view as well as the macro. Neighbors don’t like neighbors they perceive as better than themselves. Doesn’t matter what the disliked neighbor thinks about him or her self in that regard but how he or she is perceived by those around them. Thus, enormous effort is put into bringing the disliked neighbor down to their level.
