FTA: So, in conclusion, I think that the liberal philosophy on racism and sexism can be summed up by the following phrase– Bigotry for me, but not for thee.

Actually, that would be the short version. The long version would be, “I’m a liberal and I voted for Obama….I can never be a racist or a sexist. Therefore, I get to say all of the bigoted crap that I want”.

Two updates to my diary....

First, H/T to Aaron Gardner. Aaron was kind enough to send me this column from NRO about Rep. Steve Cohen (the guy who compared Hillary Clinton to “Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction”–link is below).

http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NmYxMTE1NDVmMDJkNDIxNjBjMzBjYzhjZWU0MmVmNmI

Well, today, when questioning Chris Christie (the former US Attorney who is running for governor of NJ against John Corzine) Rep. Cohen said that Christie was “making them an offer they couldn’t refuse” (in regard to companies that were under investigation). If you are curious, Christie is Italian-American, so a “Godfather” reference from Rep. Cohen was in extremely poor taste. But hey, “bigotry for me, but not for thee”, right?

Also, a friend sent me a link to a Huffington Post blogger defending Randi Rhodes’ right to call Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro “big f**king wh*res”. I added the link to the blog–its’ now the third paragraph in my diary (it’s surrounded by brackets). I thought that it was important to include it (even though my diary is no longer on the rec list), because it demonstrates perfectly the left’s ability to resort to sexist name calling and misogyny when dealing with women that they don’t like–i.e., “slutty flight attendant”, “stupid b*tch”, “hate f**k, “hillbilly heroine”, “MILF”, “Glenn Close in Fatal Attaction”, “someone should take her into a room and only he comes out”, “I don’t think that ’s her baby”–well, you get the picture. Again, imagine if a conservative pundit or blogger had called Michelle Obama any of these names or had said any of these things about her–I think that the left’s collective heads would have exploded. But again, “Bigotry for me, but not for thee”.

Thanks guys for all of the support and kind words.

Oh, Steph, you're right--I was bad and should be studying (I took one day off to write this diary). However, this is probably the last long diary that I will write until after August the eighteenth (when I'm finished with my medical boards)--especially since I plan on attending the RS get together on August first.

One more thing. Guys, it came to my attention that three of the links in my diary were broken (the link to the Kurt Andersen column, the link to the Tapper column about Obama’s use of sexist code words, and the link to the Huffington Post column about Pat Buchanan calling Chris Matthews a misogynist). I just wanted to let anyone know who had tried to click on these links earlier, but couldn’t get them to come up.

Y'all have a good night.

Bruce, I can answer the press question, at least in part. There's no crime for having a decent relationship with the press but fawning adoration should be a crime. The press has an implied responsibility, just as we have implied responsibilities with our rights.

They're abrogating their responsibilities when they provide cover for the president rather than report the facts and letting people decide what's right or wrong with what's going on.

But then, so are all Obama supporters, since they're so willing to give up their rights in order to shuck their responsibilities.

Wow……Susannah you must be a RWG (Rich White Girl) with too much time on her hands……(That was my liberal racist and sexist rant all rolled up in one brief statement)…..No seriously that was a very well written article/blog/dissertation…..I can see a lot of work and research went into….I can also see that you are a very intelligent person….The article is a little overwhelming for a simple man like me I’m going to have to read it a couple more times to digest it all…..But a couple of observations though….You quote Bill Maher a lot now especially on his rants about religion….. Bill is a comedian who had a Catholic father and a Jewish mother who also believes that “nothing” is sacred…..I don’t think he represents the majority of liberals……in fact I know he doesn’t….just like names I could throw out on the right (the right wing extremist) who don’t necessary represent all conservatives….There are a lot of statements in your article like what if someone had said that about Obama or his wife well the fact is there have been a lot of things said about them such as "they don’t love this country" and so on….Now where is the rule that says the president is suppose to be hated by the press ….. it seems to bother you a lot that Obama is supposedly liked/adored/worshipped by the press…..is that a bad thing or does it just bother you that its Obama…. If I am not mistaken Ronald Reagan had a pretty good relationship with the press also…….and lastly you talk about this blind following that the liberals have for Obama……well you know it really wasn’t liberals that put Obama into office……..cause the “old white liberal” vote was cancelled out by the “old white conservative vote” ….it was the independent vote, the youth vote, and the minority vote that put Obama into office…..and none of them fit the mold of the racist, sexist, bigoted liberals mentioned or shown in your article……

The revolution has been televised……..Black in America Baby

Two more things:

1) I love Red-Eye! It's a great show and proves that conservatives can be very funny.

2) Hate to admit it but Ben Affleck does a FANTASTIC spoof of Keith Overbearingmann. Even Affleck (a lib himself) thinks Blubbermann is over the top. Who knew he could actually act? ;)

Bravo, bravo, bravissimo!

Susannah, you made excellents points in your article. It would be tough for any liberal to refute your findings (especially since you offer video evidence) but I'm sure some will try.

This is one of the main reasons I'm left the Democrat party. I've known many liberals and leftists are closet racists for years. Over the past few years though, it looks like they've decided to come out of the closet.

I wonder what our friend Bruce would have to say about your very well written dissertation?

Damn, it’s good to be back–even if just for a little while.

Yeah... I thought you were study for the board? Not that it isn't great to read one of your articles but boards are more important right now.

There's not much I can add, really. I think Obama is anti-christ... not the Biblical Armageddon AntiChrist...but in the way he's replacing religions and respect for religious beliefs with belief in government and junk science (global warming hoax) that gives ever more power to the government.

The other thing I want to point out... which I probably should have before now but I was really sick.... was about what Sotomayer said. She said "wise Latina". Everybody focused on the Latina part when the part they should be worried about is the fact that she described herself as wise. One wonders how she knows she is wise.

I've come to expect the double standards and really don't give a flip if they want to label me whatever they label right-wing, racist, hillbilly, white trash people. I'm still going to say what I have to say.
