Apologies

I have been ill, very ill, for the past week. Who gets the flu in June? An especially virulent dose of it at that. Today is the first day I’ve felt like I might actually recover to something resembling full health. I suppose I’ll have a lot of happenings to catch up on when I feel like my eyes aren’t going to ache from the glare of the computer screen.

Bear with me.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been sick Steph. I hope that you feel better soon.

I have been MIA myself. Since I graduated from Medical school on June sixth, I’ve been studying for my boards. However, I did take a week long study break last week to take a trip with my husband to the Bahamas (we just returned two nights ago, but now my Mom’s visiting). I will resume studying, but hopefully will find the time to write another diary in the near future.

Get well soon and get lots of rest.

I think I caught the swine flu. I didn’t go to the doctor so I can’t swear to it but I can’t ever remember being this sick from a flu virus before in my life… which seems to be the only difference between regular flu and the swine variety.

I’ve been solid sick for over a week now but I think it’s starting to ease up now. I can look at the computer screen for more than a few minutes now without daggers in my eyes as a result. The headaches have eased and the fever finally broke and stayed gone this time.

I still have a lot of congestion, so much that it will probably be some time before talking on the phone will be a pleasant experience for both parties. I can, however, breathe better in spite of the congestion. Always a good sign, yes?

The good news is that if I do indeed have that, being such a hermit as I am, it’s unlikely that I spread it any further.

Yes, it does sound like Swine Flu. Apparently there are a lot of cases which go unreported. Has it been around in your area?

Yeah, there have been but the only ones reported were in schools. I was having a yard sale when this stuff hit. I had to close down early the last day… I thought just because I had gotten too much sun or something and had a bit of a sore throat. The next day it was on and I’ve been fighting it since but it’s starting to feel better finally.

If that’s what it was, I don’t ever want to get it again. Sometimes the congestion and coughing were so bad it reminded me of the time I almost died, because some bouts would go on so long I was fighting to get air back in my lungs.

Feel better soon, Steph. I’m sorry to hear you were so sick, that flu is a bad one and takes a while. Don’t be up and about too soon.

    Hi Steph,
God bless you and heal you. I’m so sorry you haven’t been feeling well.

After a (too long) absense I’m back and will be happy to help in any way I can.

You’ve been doing a wonderful job here. Now get some rest, heal, and enjoy. Love you much ya know. :)

Falcon, bro… welcome back. Jump in any time. Nah, not too long a time, really… all things considered. Glad you’re back, though,

(One of these days, I’ll get those huggy smilies loaded up.)

The worst of it seems to be over. Headaches (which were gone for a day or two, then came back) and congestion are hanging on… seems like forever now. It is not a pleasant experience to have a phone conversation with me right now, Spontaneous, loud, awful coughing never makes for a good conversation.

Yesterday I ate my first really solid food in almost two weeks… Yay! I have to admit I went to bed still miserable from the meal, but it was gooooood.

You know, Bruce, you did used to do that a lot; confuse Kathy and me.

I’ve got a lot of catching up to do but I have some thoughts on today’s happenings already.
