My recent email to Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin:

medea@globalexchange.org.

You once said when you lived in Cuba you thought, "You died and went to heaven." To bad that wasn't the case.

So why in the hell don't you go back to Cuba to live!

Oh wait. You can't. You were deported.

You would think....... it was a lesson learned..... but it went right over your stupid fucking head!

PS: Bush said he's waiting for the satellite to get over Berkeley before he fires.

My moment of pride came when I rose at West Point for the 'Caissons Go Rolling Along". Just a visit to my daughter and son -in- law, who were professors there.
At their July 4th ceromonies, vets from each service are asked to rise as their service song is played. Of course a few hundred rose for each, but the Army had close to a1000 standing.

Thanks, Sean. I can't think of anything else to say but thanks. There aren't many people like you left in the country.

Shameful.
This past summer my wife and I went to Philadelphia. She is Croation and wanted to see the "Birthplace of America.

I am a 6' 2" 230 lb former wrestler and football player trained to be tough and in the midst of all of that history, the hundreds of years of sacrifice, I trembled.

I shook as others around us were snapping photos trying to create memories with no appearant appreciation or memory of the people who had served our country and allowed them to be there.

My wife is a nurse and immediately noticed a change in my demeanor. When I explained to her she smiled and said, "You ARE an American."

I can only hope that one day these horribly misguided individuals will have a better appreciation of the people that choose to serve our country and allow them the opportunity to be the disgrace that they are.
